Here at Nothing Without Us, part of our work is to supply travel funding for disabled developers, professionals and creators to attend events. With disabled households having to spend approximately £1000 more a month, we do not believe cost should be a barrier to attending events to network and build community.
Our current funding is intended to send a disabled developer to Develop:Conference in Brighton. If you would like to apply for funding to attend Develop:Brighton please fill in the form below before 20th of June 2025! This form can also be submitted via video if that is more accessible to you - to do so please ignore the written fields and include a link to your video in the appropriate field.
Before submitting please read the following rules carefully:
Applicants must identify as disabled (Under the Equality Act, a disability is “a physical or mental impairment that has a “substantial” and “long-term” on your ability to do normal daily activities”) and must be either working, or looking to work in the games industry.
Due to funding limitations, we can only accept applicants travelling from within England, Wales or Scotland.
We are only able to cover travel and accommodation up to £710. This would include the cost of a carer’s travel if necessary, who must have evidence that they are the applicants carer.
By signing up, you accept and must commit to open and clear communication with staff from NWU to ensure smooth organisation of travel. We may also keep in touch after the funding period to survey the impact of it.
Funding may only be used for travel via train, taxi, Uber, bus or petrol for personal vehicles. Unfortunately we cannot support funding for rental cars or air travel.
Applicants must secure their own ticket for Develop:Conference and provide evidence to NWU organisers that their ticket has been claimed. There are free expo passes available on their website which allow access to a limited number of roundtables, talks and the expo.
